Job description
The Travel and Expense Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing global travel and expense data, ensuring compliance with company policies, and supporting the efficient operation of the travel and expense systems. This position requires a strong understanding of global travel and expense processes, the ability to analyze data across regions, and a focus on process improvement. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, possess excellent analytical skills, and have a passion for driving global standardization and operational excellence.
What you’ll do:
- Global Travel and Expense Management:
Support the global travel and expense processes, including assisting travel bookings, expenses, and reimbursements. Ensure compliance with company policies and regional regulations. - Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze global travel and expense trends to identify opportunities for cost savings, policy compliance, and operational efficiency. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on travel and expense spend, savings initiatives, and system usage. - Process Improvement & Standardization:
Collaborate with teams across regions to drive process standardization and efficiency in the global travel and expense programs. Continuously evaluate workflows and recommend improvements to streamline operations and reduce costs. - System Administration & Support:
Manage and optimize global travel and expense management systems (e.g., Concur, SAP, or similar platforms). Provide training and support to global users, ensuring smooth system functionality and troubleshooting issues as needed. - Vendor & Policy Management:
Assist with managing relationships with global travel vendors (e.g., airlines, hotels, car rental) and support policy development, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and regional needs. - Global Compliance & Audit:
Ensure compliance with global travel and expense policies, regulatory requirements, and audit procedures. Monitor exceptions and work with stakeholders to resolve non-compliance issues. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with global finance, HR, procurement, and IT teams to ensure seamless travel and expense operations and ensure accurate data for financial reporting.
What we are looking for:
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1+ years of experience in travel and expense, finance, or a related role, with exposure to global processes.
- Knowledge of global travel and expense management platforms (e.g., Concur, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Experience working in a multinational environment and understanding regional compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and regions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced, global environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with travel and expense process standardization.
- Knowledge of corporate travel policies and vendor negotiations.
- Familiarity with global expense reporting regulations and audit procedures.
- Travel and expense management certifications (e.g., Global Travel Professional (GTP), Certified Corporate Travel Expert (CCTE)) are a plus.
