Job Summary:

The Technology Transformation team in Avis is a technology specialist team to roll out new capabilities in to cloud to support engineers, analysts, and business teams. This role does NOT require night shifts but need to have overlapping hours between IST and US east morning hours for proper handholding with stake holders.

Technology Transformation Team is looking for a talented and passionate junior/senior Cloud engineer with experience in platform/devops components to join this team. They are expected to evaluate and roll out new solutions quickly with minimal guidance in accordance with recommended best practices and security policies.

This role requires a resourceful individual, a persistent problem solver, and a strong hands-on engineer who can move around various technology stacks with ease.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out POCs and Roll out new cloud-based solutions with minimal guidance.
  • Administration of critical data platform components and provide L3 support as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership by quick assimilation of knowledge about new systems being rolled out, documenting, and sharing the same with team members, assist them as required.

Job Requirements

  • Overall 8+ years’ experience in IT industry including 4+ years’ experience with AWS ecosystem. (Senior Engineer)
  • Overall 1+ years’ experience in IT industry (Junior Engineer)
  • Operating Systems:  3+ years of experience in Linux/Unix environment.
  • Experience with Infra as a code stack used in AWS. Terraform/CloudFormation/Ansible.
  • Very good understanding of Cloud databases and technologies including AWS RDS, and Redshift. Good knowledge of relational database concepts and SQL skills needed.
  • Experience owning production systems is needed.
  • Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services with knowledge on trouble shooting. (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP, netstat, openssl).
  • Experience with scripting languages: Python/Shell.
  • Experience with AWS data migration services.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and scripted pipelines with focus on Jenkins.
  • Ability to understand the big picture and clarity of thoughts to actively contribute to solutioning calls involving multiple teams.

Good to have skills:

  • Client-facing role experience.
  • AWS associate level certifications.
  • Understanding on the Google cloud platform capabilities.
  • Distributed system architecture awareness.
  • Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, and Airflow administration.
  • Knowledge on Couchbase cluster administration activities.
  • Experience working on data replication pipelines.
