Leads and supports the central billing account credit application and billing processes by offering excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, using critical thinking skills, and providing support for transformational projects. Provide direction, leadership, development and support to direct reports through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments and projects.
What you'll do:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervisory responsibilities include, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; improving employee engagement, addressing complaints, and resolving problems in accordance with the company policies.
- Ensures that staff performance complies with established procedures and meets or exceeds performance standards by employing management practices that promote customer loyalty and protects the company brand.
- Review initial Central Billing applications for all U.S., Canada, and Latin America accounts against defined criteria to determine approval/rejection. Subject matter expert to provide support for other Avis Budget Group regions.
- Perform regular review of the employee accounts for status, risk, and renewal eligibility.
- Relationship and governance owner for any credit vendor activities.
- Create approved Central Bill and Shared accounts in customer database.
- Oversee the process of the Central Bill Account employees to maintain customer database and master record systems.
- Ensure Central Bill accounts are issued timely and accurate invoices and all service level metrics are achieved by all employees.
- Ensures adequate standards are met for attendance, payroll, performance documentation and other employment paperwork/entries. Completes other administrative duties and additional projects, as assigned, in an accurate and timely manner. Creates or generates performance reports.
- Ensure that the Central Bill Account employees respond to escalated billing inquires and support dispute resolution.
- Participate in budget development and performance.
- Compile data for management reports and regular departmental performance reports.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The supervisor has overall responsibility for the Billing services and Credit team by providing strategic direction, coordination and evaluation of the team by coaching and mentoring representatives to drive performance improvement initiatives and meet departmental KPIs. Manages the performance of the representatives and provides them with training, mentoring, performance expectations, performance appraisals and career path opportunities.
What we are looking for:
Required Experience
- Preferred candidate will have an Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or other related field, or 4 years of related experience.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory and customer service experience.
- Experience in Credit screening and evaluations, including financial statement and key business ratio analysis.
- Understanding of consumer credit legislation, letters of credit, and guarantees.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong coaching, employee engagement/retention and training skills.
- Demonstrated history of accuracy and attention to detail, efficiency, and sound judgment
- Strong work-ethic is critical for success in this position.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, ability to navigate various PC systems.
