About the Role
As a Business Analyst you will support the Finance Business Partner - Operations by extracting data from core systems and creating interactive reports for managers to see how the business is performing. You will interrogate the data to ensure its accuracy and produce reports explaining the information correctly. You could also be tasked with finding data on things that have not been asked for previously and once again checking the information is accurate and reporting your findings to senior managers within the company.
We have daily, weekly, and monthly reporting coming from multiple systems for reports to be generated using Excel, Power BI, Tableau and Hyperion etc.
Key accountabilities would include but are not limited to:
Maintaining and refreshing internal reporting on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Preparation of key financial information for the preparation of the financial result at the end of each month, including full Maintenance and Damages reporting.
Analytics and insights into the month end result as part of the month end preparation and review process.
Preparation with the Finance Business Partner-Operations of the monthly forecasts and the annual financial plan.
Numerous ad-hoc financial performance and analytical queries from key stakeholders.
Problem solving and ownership in partnership with key stakeholders of various initiatives to drive financial and non-financial performance.
Maintain financial and non- financial metrics in Oracle
Maintain SOX Compliance
Build strong business partnering relationships with key operational business roles
Actively seek opportunities for continuous improvement in reporting and analysis
What we are looking for:
You will have a tertiary qualification in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting or something similar with a strong commercial business acumen working in a large multi-site organisation. Superior Financial analysis and IT skills with experience using multiple programmes is also essential.
To be successful in this role you will have an inquisitive and analytical mind that is comfortable with ambiguity so you can do research and see what you discover. Excellent attention to detail and being deadline driven (as this will tight and fluctuating) will see you thrive in this role.
Communications skills will also be key as you will need to build solid relationships with both financial and non-financial business partners.
